This was a huge weekend and really solidifies why we moved back to be closer to family. When we had Violetta's Big Reveal, we had a video conference with our family back in Ohio. This time around, we were all together! We couldn't be happier because we're having a baby GIRL!!! We can't even begin to describe how fortunate we are to have another baby girl! Best feeling in the world! It was incredibly busy leading up to the Big Reveal. There were more than 15 contractors in our kitchen towards the end of the week to make sure it was ready for the party. We also had Violetta's first ballet recital hours before the party, so we were equally focused on both children! Violetta's first ballet recital was a huge deal for the family. The best part - Violetta's first recital was entirely a solo act! Moments before the curtain was to come up, Violetta realized she had to go potty, and she had to go "right now". When the curtain came up, we didn't realize that Vivi wasn't onstage at first - all the girls had the same dress and same 'bun' hair style, so they looked identical from a few hundred feet out. When Vivi came out of the bathroom, she proudly looked at her teacher Ms. Molly and exclaimed, "Ok, I'm ready to dance Ms. Molly!" Vivi did get to go on stage at the end with Ms. Molly and collect flowers, but when she learned that she missed her chance to dance for us, she was not having any of it. Ms. Molly was so gracious and had the house lights and music cued so Violetta could perform for the family! We all had front row seats for the performance and I think everyone was tearing up with how graceful and adorable lil' Violetta looked. We had so much fun planning and preparing for the Reveal party. We wanted a little more suspense, so we couldn't just start off releasing pink balloons. We took the largest moving box and cut out a little partition to keep the pink balloons separate from the white ones. The table spread was beautiful - white hydrangeas and tulips, chocolates, macaroons, coconut spears and lamb-shaped Gigi cut-out cookies! Momma had prosecco (blue) and sparking rose (pink) available so everyone could make their guess whether it was a boy or girl. Violetta was very excited for you when she opened both her 'first recital' gifts and your 'reveal' gifts. There is no question lil' Peanut, Vivi will really enjoy lending a hand in opening your gifts! When it came time for the Reveal, we all went into the living room and Vivi opened the box of balloons. When the white balloons went up, your Auntie B shouted "Oh no, you're not finding out!?!" And then the first pink balloon came out and everyone literally screamed in unison, "It's a girl!!!" Little Peanut, we're so happy for you to grow up so close to your family! And we're so excited for some help! From week 24 to week 25, you've grown about half an inch and four ounces - 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches! Your long, lean look is now adding some baby fat; this will smooth out your wrinkly skin and you'll start to look more like a newborn. You're growing more and more hair hair - likely more than I have! If we could see your hair, we could even tell the color and texture. And your kicking strength just made Momma shout out while I'm typing this out! Little Peanut, your Momma and I are so unbelievably excited knowing we will have another girl! Your Big Sister is going to be the best sister. It's been so cute watching her emulate Momma and talking about her baby - "oh, this is my baby" or how many of her stuffed animals are also now expecting. Violetta absolutely loves laying on Momma's belly so she's as close as possible to you and happily gives you both gentle kisses and raspberry kisses - there's also the occasional head butt kiss too! Little Peanut, it's impossible to explain how much Vivi loves you and how often she asks if she can hold you - as in, hold you right now. She's just as excited as we are Little Peanut! We love you so much!! Momma is now happily telling everyone that "it's a girl!"
